Keysight Advances Quantum Engineering with New System-Level Simulation Solution

29 October, 2025

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) announced the release of Quantum System Analysis, an innovative electronic design automation (EDA) solution that enables engineers to simulate and optimize quantum systems at the system-level. This new capability significantly expands Keysight's quantum EDA portfolio, which includes Quantum Layout, QuantumPro EM, and Quantum Circuit Simulation. The announcement coincides with a key moment for the industry, following the awarding of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics for advances in superconducting quantum circuits, the focus of Keysight's new solution.

System-level modeling of quantum systems has long been challenging due to the need to integrate multiple physical domains—electromagnetics, circuit design, and quantum dynamics—in a single environment. Traditional approaches rely on disparate tools and repetitive cryogenic experiments, which are time-consuming and expensive. Quantum System Analysis closes this gap by providing a unified platform for early validation of quantum systems and shortening the development cycle, increasing confidence in design quality.

Quantum System Analysis enables researchers to simulate the entire quantum workflow—from early design stages to system experiments—reducing reliance on costly cryogenic testing and accelerating validation. The integrated approach supports the simulation of quantum experiments and includes tools for optimizing dilution line inputs while accounting for thermal noise and estimating qubit temperature.

The solution introduces two innovative features:

• Time Dynamics Simulator

Simulates the time evolution of a quantum system using Hamiltonians derived from electromagnetic or circuit simulations. This enables accurate simulation of quantum experiments such as Rabi and Ramsey pulsations, helping researchers analyze qubit behavior over time. • Dilution Fridge Input Line Designer

Enables accurate modeling of lines connecting qubits to the cryostat, thermal noise analysis, and qubit temperature estimation. Modeling the input line architecture helps minimize thermal photon leakage and improve the accuracy of the entire system.

Chris Mus, Senior Director of New Market Development at Keysight, noted:

"Quantum System Analysis completes a truly unified quantum system design workflow by seamlessly integrating electromagnetic, circuit, and system simulation. By eliminating the need for disparate tools and repeated cryogenic tests, we accelerate innovation and increase developer confidence."

Mohamed Hassan, Head of Quantum Solution Planning at Keysight, added:

"Quantum System Analysis is a step forward in accelerating quantum innovation. By shifting the modeling process left, we reduce the need for repeated cryogenic experiments and enable researchers to validate system designs early." The Quantum System Analysis solution is available as part of the Advanced Design System (ADS) 2026 platform and complements existing quantum EDA tools. It supports superconducting qubit platforms and can be extended to other technologies, including spin qubits, making it a versatile tool for quantum R&D teams.
