PV15 Wilden Air Pump Valve Assembly

05 January, 2026

The Wilden PV15 air pump valve is a key component of the air distribution system (ADS) in the Pro-Flo® V series of air-operated double diaphragm pumps.

Key Features:

System Type: Pro-Flo® V (ADS with unbalanced spool).

Body Material: Most commonly aluminum or stainless steel (depending on the assembly design, e.g., part number 04-2030-01).

Assembled Assembly Weight: Approximately 1.8–2.1 kg.

Compatibility: Wilden P15 and PV15 series pumps (76 mm or 3-inch size).

Operating Principle: Utilizes unbalanced spool technology to prevent pump sticking. The small end of the spool is constantly pressurized, while the large end alternately loads and unloads to reverse the air flow.

Benefits and Features:

Lubrication-Free: The system is designed to operate with dry compressed air; excess lubrication can reduce performance.

Freeze Protection: The Pro-Flo® V exhaust port design slows air expansion, keeping moisture in suspension and reducing the risk of ice formation during operation.

Reliability: The system has only three moving parts (main spool, pilot spool, and diaphragm shaft), simplifying maintenance and increasing the mean time between repairs (MTBR).

Temperature Range: Valve operation is limited by seal materials; typically, -200°C to +250°C for metal components, but actual limits depend on pump elastomers (e.g., up to +82°C for Buna-N, up to +104°C for PTFE).

Popular Part Numbers:

04-2030-01: Complete Air Valve for PV4/PV15 Systems.

15-3884-99 / 15-3880-99: Pilot valves for controlling the main distributor in the PV15 model.
